From diamond jewellery to Victorian lace, the Lincolnshire area has more than its fair share of antique shops and markets, making it an essential destination for those looking to acquire unique or unusual objects.

Hemswell Antique Centre

The largest antiques centre in Europe. Hemswell Antique Centre is 30 minutes’ drive north of Lincoln and offers a huge and diverse selection.

On our most recent visit Luxe Lincolnshire was delighted to acquire a pair of Satsuma vases. We also spotted ancient Chinese ceramics and Tiffany jewellery.

Open: seven days a week. Closes 5pm.

Coffee: The Guard Room Coffee Shop is within the Antique Centre. On offer are home-made cakes and an excellent choice of teas.

Navenby Antiques Centre

Diminutive but enchanting, Navenby Antiques Centre is a High Street shop in the charming village of Navenby 11 miles south of the city.

Luxe Lincolnshire loves the array of jewellery and silverware on display. We’ve picked up envy-inducing vintage rings and crystal decanters at this lovely Antiques Centre

Open: Wednesday – Sunday. Closes 4pm.

Coffee: The Lounge Café on the ground floor offers tasty treats.

Mansions Antiques

A curio in the Cathedral Quarter in Lincoln, Mansions Antiques is packed to the rafters with myriad marvels, specialising in Victoriana and local history.

Great for whiling away some time in The Bailgate area after lunch.

Open: Wednesday – Saturday. Closes 5pm.

Coffee: Greyz Team Room or for something slightly stronger The White Hart Hotel is a stone’s throw away.

Antiques Etc…

Also in The Bailgate part of Lincoln’s historical centre. Ideally paired with a browse of Mansions Antiques.

Open: Thursday - Sunday. Closes 5pm. Sundays 1pm – 4pm only.

Coffee: continue along Westgate and enjoy a drink in The Castle Hotel.

Unique Auctions

Looking to furnish a house or find something unique? These auctioneers and valuers hold monthly auction houses set in a warehouse on the outskirts of Lincoln, in the suburb of North Hykeham. It is a fantastic day out and a lot of fun witnessing each object being auctioned off one by one.

Open: Monday – Friday 9am-3pm

Coffee: BYOC (Bring your own coffee). Alternatively, there is a Costa cafe drive-thru on the corner before the auction house.
